Community begins with each of us – individuals who feel a strong connection to people and places, and who have a desire to make our communities a better place to live. One of the ways the Los Angeles Unified School District serves our community is through its annual LAUSD Combined Charitable Campaign. Sharing Brings Hope is our 2008 theme and it captures the spirit of creating a sense of community through sharing.
Since 1992, LAUSD has invited twelve Los Angeles diverse and respected charitable agencies to participate in its consolidated charitable campaign. All twelve agencies are licensed, fiscally responsible organizations, working together to raise funds for over 400 individual charities.

The Sharing Brings Hope campaign consolidates the District’s fundraising efforts to a single annual occurrence. Our mission is to provide funding for programs that assist in meeting the health, social, environmental and educational needs of all the communities that LAUSD serves.

The generous donations of LAUSD employees and students enable our students and the communities around them by providing information and programs, to succeed in an increasingly competitive world. Sharing Brings Hope... it truly does.

Every year teachers, staff, administrators, students and students’ families join together to take part in the LAUSD Combined Charitable Campaign.  Our theme is Sharing Brings Hope and our goal is to assist the less fortunate in the diverse communities that make up LAUSD.

The charitable agencies and the recipients of charitable services funded by Sharing Brings Hope donations are grateful to everyone, from the pre-school student who brings a few coins in their student donation envelope to the staff members who generously donate from their monthly paycheck. Students and their families have donated over $366,000 in their student donation envelopes. Staff and teachers have pledged over $700,000 in payroll giving.

This February and March we are asking all of the LAUSD family to join us in giving their time, commitment and dollars to making greater Los Angeles a better place for everyone. Your donations help to educate the deserving, feed the hungry, shelter the needy, provide health care for the sick and improve the environment for everyone.  Please contribute to the Sharing Brings Hope campaign.

Every donation makes a difference, every donation brings hope.
