ASIAN PACIFIC COMMUNITY FUND
The Asian Pacific Community Fund (APCF) and its 29 member agencies are committed to serving the vast and critical needs of the Asian, Pacific Islander and other ethnic communities in the Greater Los Angeles area.  By giving to APCF, you make a difference in over 100,000 lives annually through culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate programs and services.

Why Support the Work of APCF and its Member Agencies?
The Asian Pacific Islander population is the 3rd largest racial/ethnic group (1.3 million) in Los Angeles County – larger than that of any state in the nation, except for California.  With such a large population, also comes a great need for support of this community.

As the only Asian Pacific Islander community-based fund in Southern California, the work of APCF is more important than ever.  APCF strives to raise funds through individual donors giving through workplace charitable campaigns TO MAKE UP FOR THE FUNDING SHORTFALLS FOR PEOPLE OF ASIAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER DECENT.

According to a recent report by Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy, “the giving trends of the top U.S. Foundations to Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities have not kept pace with the growth of these communities … The report shows that even though Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders now comprise 4.5 percent of the U.S. population, 2004 foundation funding represented just 0.4 percent of all U.S. foundation dollars.  This funding does not appear to correlate with the significant social and economic challenges that continue to hinder AAPI community progress, including high poverty rates, growing health risks, increased hate-related violence, and major educational achievement gaps in many AAPI populations.”
