Dear Colleagues

Each of us makes a difference each and every day when we act alone – but when we act together, our collective impact is multiplied a hundred-fold. We are a part of the LAUSD community. Please join me in supporting the students and families of our community through the LAUSD Consolidated Charitable Campaign
(LAUSDCCC), also known as the Sharing Brings Hope Campaign.

Our District’s fundraising efforts are consolidated into this single annual event, extending this year from
February 16 through April 2, 2010. The Campaign provides our employees, students and their families with the opportunity to contribute to the community organizations of their choice through payroll deductions and onetime
gifts.

Through this Campaign, we will raise funds to:

  • Invest in children and youth
  • Strengthen families
  • Promote higher education
  • Promote health and wellness
  • Empower seniors and the disabled
  • Protect our environment

Last year, LAUSD employees, students and parents raised close to $1 million for the 12 participating fund distribution agencies, representing over 400 nonprofit groups. In these tough economic times it is increasingly
important to help support our struggling families.

I invite each of you to join me in supporting this effort. Thank you for giving generously.

Sincerely,

Ramon C. Cortines

Every year teachers, staff, administrators, students and students’ families join together to take part in the LAUSD Combined Charitable Campaign. Our theme is Sharing Brings Hope and our goal is to assist the less fortunate in the diverse communities that make up LAUSD.

The charitable agencies and the recipients of charitable services funded by Sharing Brings Hope donations are grateful to everyone, from the pre-school student who brings a few coins in their student donation envelope to the staff members who generously donate from their monthly paycheck. Students and their families have donated over $366,000 in their student donation envelopes. Staff and teachers have pledged over $700,000 in payroll giving.

This February and March we are asking all of the LAUSD family to join us in giving their time, commitment and dollars to making greater Los Angeles a better place for everyone. Your donations help to educate the deserving, feed the hungry, shelter the needy, provide health care for the sick and improve the environment for everyone.  Please contribute to the Sharing Brings Hope campaign.

Every donation makes a difference, every donation brings hope.
